Man The Lifeboats

Saturday 11th March 2023  Doors 7pm

Delighted to be able to welcome MAN THE LIFEBOATS to Katie Fitzgerald's in Stourbridge .

Songs with straight-up lyrics, pounding bass lines, lilting mandolin and fiddle melodies and stomping beats, Man The Lifeboats have cultivated a sound that would not be out of place at a party at the end of the world.

Expect songs with big choruses that tell stories.

nfluences? Well, up there with Skinny Lister and Holy Moly & the Crackers, we have the Pogues, Bellowhead, Tom Waits, Dylan, Springsteen, Kate Bush, Frank Turner, Manu Chao, and of course, Chic.

Throw all that in a cauldron and you end up with a blistering live experience, tales of lost evenings, ballads of doomed love and shanties about whisky-soaked nights, Michael Palin, and the end of the world.

London-Irish 'Psycho-Ceilídh'   "As if The Clash were born on The Emerald Isle."        A six-piece 'Psycho-Ceilídh' band juxtaposing perfectly the swirling, spiritual abandon of authentic Traditional Irish music with the electric energy blast of a full-on, pumped-up-to-fe*k Punk band and in the process, distilling the sound of two other mighty London rebel bands, The Clash & The Pogues, & 'carrying the torch on' with their own, unique London-Irish brew!

Songs of Sandy Denny

"Superb band of great musicians. Julie has a voice that really echoes the late Sandy Denny. Go see them if you can, you won't be disappointed. One of the best folk-rock bands around at the moment!"

The band will also perform songs from their own Folk Rock Albums 'Lady of the First Light' and 'Wonderland'.
