KATIE'S SANTA APPEAL

Following the success of last year’s ‘SANTA APPEAL’, we have decided to do it all again this year and I really hope that, once again the wonderful people of Stourbridge will help us to put a smile on as many children’s faces this Christmas as possible.

 One of the saddest sights at the food bank is mothers with young children, children who just stand there, looking terrified and lost, not speaking a word, but you can see the pain in their eyes and they are just so withdrawn. 

 We want to help change a child’s memory of Christmas from a sad one to a happy one and put that smile on their little faces, with your help.

So, as part of this campaign, we’re asking if all of our friends with young children will bring them along to see Santa at our Christmas SANTA GROTTO on Sunday 3rd December, between 4.00 p.m. and 7.00 p..m., but instead of your child receiving a present from Santa, we would like them to bring a present to give to Santa to pass on to a child who’s Christmas threatens to be a present-free zone because their parents are simply too poor.  Please bring your child before 6.00 p.m. so that they can spend some time with Santa.

We know, without a doubt, that we all made a difference to children last year, as we were actually stopped in town on a number of occasions by mother’s who wanted to thank everyone for all the wonderful gifts and said that they had been desperate to try to find a way for their child to have some presents and that this had really had an amazing impact on their child.  So, on their behalf, I would like to say a massive THANKS GUYS to all that donated so generously last year.

As well as transforming our entire garden into a winter wonderland, we will be having a Christmas singalong with Gig Caritas Community Choir after Santa and his busy elves have finished their work.  There will be mulled wine, mulled cider and mince pies and lots of Christmas spirit for the adults.
