TV Smith
Saturday 1st October
TV Smith was founder member, singer and songwriter for the Adverts, who formed in late 1976, and be-came one of the leading bands in the first wave of British punk rock. In early 1977, they performed regularly at the newly-opened Roxy Club in London, and gained cult success with the Stiff Records single "One Chord Wonders." Their next release, "Gary Gilmore's Eyes" became a hit record, leading to many radio and TV appearances and extensive media interest. A further single, “No Time To Be 21,” also entered the charts, and the band spent the rest of the year playing live, including major tours with The Damned and Iggy Pop. The album that followed in early 1978, "Crossing the Red Sea with the Adverts," is still considered a
genuine classic of the era and is often cited as one of the twenty best punk albums ever released.

The Trials of Cato +
Saturday 8th October
TRIALS OF CATO
This will be Trials of Cato's first visit and we are really excited to welcome them as part of their Autumn 2022 album tour.
Their remarkable rise on the UK folk-scene has been the subject of massive critical attention. Dubbed "the Sex Pistols of folk,” (J Davis) they pay clear homage to the tradition whilst twisting old bones into something febrile and modern, with stomping tunes and captivating stories.
Formed in Beirut, the band returned to the UK in 2016 and set to performing tirelessly up and down the country, leading to BBC Radio 2’s Mark Radcliffe hailing them as “one of the real discoveries on the folk circuit in recent times.” Their debut album, Hide and Hair, gained attention in national publications, receives repeated national airplay on BBC Radio 2 and BBC 6 Music, and won Best Album at the 2019 BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards.

The New Cranes
Sunday 9th October
"...the Newcranes deliver crackling folk-punk in the vein of the levellers. Heavy in places, bouncy and fun in others (not to mention occasional forays into straight-up acoustic folk) the Newcranes clearly have a fair few fans in attendance (and make many more) with the highlight of their set being the creeping bassline of turpentine."

Undercover Hippy
Sunday 16th October
Drum & Bass MC turned singer-songwriter Billy Rowan, aka The Undercover Hippy, appears to be on a mission to make people think, laugh, and dance simultaneously. Described by Tom Robinson (BBC6Music) as being “like the love-child of Steel Pulse, Kate Tempest and The Sleaford Mods”, his music brings together powerful messages, infectious reggae rhythms, and a fast paced lyrical delivery. Renowned for the electric atmosphere of their live shows, Billy and his band never fail to leave the crowd feeling inspired and energised, playing tours and festivals across the UK and Europe. Combining intelligent, provocative lyrics with dangerously catchy hooks and a feel good groove, this is music for the thinking person to shake their arse to. Think Natty meets Eminem…on a protest march…at the Edinburgh Fringe.
