Doors 7.00pm
‘IN WITH THE IN CROWD’
Be prepared for a wonderful evening’s entertainment, celebrating musical styles that have become synonymous with the very best in popular music.
You will hear Rhythm and Blues, Soul, Ska and Bluebeat, as well as Afro Cuban rhythms, delivered in the Band’s own inimitable style.
Classics by the likes of Ray Charles, Ken Boothe, Booker T and the MG’s, Toots and the Maytals are mixed with original numbers to create a toe tapping musical experience, guaranteed to have you itching to dance.
Many will remember Ricky Cool fronting one of Birmingham’s most popular groups, the legendary Ricky Cool and the Icebergs. Ricky has toured with Billy Connolly, shared the stage with George Harrison and played shows with Robert Plant, The Kinks and Dire Straits to name but a few.
The Band members are all top class musicians with excellent pedigrees, who have worked with artists including Ruby Turner, The Beat, Gregory Isaacs, Carina Round, Linda Perry and Fine Young Cannibals.
As Ricky says, “Our music is timeless and enjoyed by young and old alike. The fun we have on stage rubs off on our audience and a great time is had by one and all.”

Sunday Sessions
Sunday 7th September 2025
Doors 4.00pm
I met the inimitable @sarah_jane_morris as a fan when I was 18/19 years old. I’ve watched her in The republic , the Communards , Red wedge, as a solo artist as an actress and she is 🔥 The illustrious @tonyminvielle I met whilst at Poly in the 80’s and his tunes even back then kept me going and now on Jazz fm , Love Supreme festival. What this man doesn’t know about jazz then and now , nobody does. Our spoken word artist is the brilliant @cathirae whom I met many moons ago as I was embarking on motherhood . Her poetry, performance and general iconic fashion sense has to be witnessed. I have worked with super dad james Burkmar @jtsongs since the 80’s creating and supporting a very creative brood, no need to look any further where them apples fell from. For this secret love Sunday session we will be revisiting our duo “HungryWorld” in a short set to kick of my foray back into music and singing @secretlove.band will create a short jazzy set to start the event off. Our headline act is not to be missed. I am so excited to present The super talented Sarah jane Morris and virtuoso guitarist @t_remy1983 for their first Stourbridge performance. Food by Momitas cafe again. I’ve themed this event “age ain’t nothing but a number “ for obvious reasons.

An Evening with Jess Silk
Thursday 25th September 2025 Doors 7pm
Self-styled as a shouty folk/punk singer-songwriter Jess Silk plays to audiences up and down the UK, on the festival circuit, supporting many well known names among the folk/punk scene and as a headliner in her own right.
Playing hard-hitting sets to festival crowds is where Jess is most comfortable, and so An Evening With Jess Silk will have her stepping out of her comfort zone and bringing something a bit different. With two full length albums, a stack of EPs and an extensive back catalogue Jess will be sharing perhaps some of her more nuanced work, as well as the usual gig favourites (and maybe even a couple of choice covers!) at a rare seated gig at her spiritual home of Katie Fitzgerald’s in Stourbridge.
An Evening With Jess Silk is a chance to hear Jess talk more about her songwriting and inspirations, and to listen to some of her more subdued, yet equally thought provoking, songs that don’t often get an outing in the hubbub of her usual gigs.
£12.50 early bird £15.00 OTD

Next Level folk Club
A double nomination in the 2015 BBC Folk Awards – for best singer and best new song – was a timely reminder of Jez Lowe’s standing in the UK folk and acoustic music scene. Not only he is one of the busiest live performers in the country, but his songs are among the most widely sung by other performers, whether by long-established acts like Fairport Convention, The Dubliners and Bob Fox, or by the new breed of stars like The Unthanks, The Young Uns, Megson and The Duhks.
Jez’s own long-established band The Bad Pennies (featuring Kate Bramley, Andy May and David De La Haye) continue to attract a huge following, and his other collaborations with The Pitmen Poets (with Billy Mitchell, Bob Fox and Benny Graham), The Broonzies (alongside fellow-veterans Maggie Holland, Chris Parkinson and Roger Wilson), Men at Words(with James Keelaghan and Archie Fisher) and with fellow-songwriter Steve Tilston, show a willingness to push boundaries and venture boldly into pastures new.
