Sunday 3rd September, we are having a pirate themed party fundraiser for Katie’s with some of our very favourite and talented musicians having so generously offered to come along and play for us to support our venue. This also falls on the day that, believe it or not, will mark the 7th anniversary of the day we tragically lost our beautiful Elliott and so we thought what better way of remembering and honouring our little bro than dressing up, which he loved, and drinking lots of Jack Daniels, which he also loved, (or rum for the more ardent pirates). Elliott will always be a part of Katie’s and he will always be in our hearts. We really hope that you can join us, We will be starting at 3.00 p.m. and the entrance is on Mamble Road.

THE LONG ROAD – By Shelagh Stephenson
Saturday 9th / Sunday 10th September
THE LONG ROAD – By Shelagh Stephenson"It's a rare play that hits the news with such cruel topicality ... Stephenson offers a powerful, illuminating piece of dramatic fiction." -(Evening StandardWhen eighteen-year-old Danny is fatally stabbed in a random attack his family struggles to find meaning and forgiveness. His mother's determination to understand the atrocity brings her face to face with his killer and forces the family to confront the bitter senselessness of their loss. Sadly, knife crime in 2023 is a reality, particularly in the West Midlands. As well as aiming to deliver a first-rate piece of theatre, our wonderful cast and production team would like to raise money to be able to donate to anti knife crime charities. Our cast of professional actors from across the region will also be joined by the awesome Andy Jenkins performing his original songs, some written specially for The Long Road.

Since 2018 we have played at a variety of venues including ‘Kitchen garden cafe’, ‘Narrowboat sessions’, ‘Katie Fitzgerald’s’ and ‘Ludlow green fair’ Birdbrother formed originally as a Sussex based duo in 2011 with Kris Lamba and recorded their album 'Peace to the wanderer'.
