When Wayne Beese left Holly Hall Grant Maintained School in the summer of 1996, as Head Boy and with a clutch of GCSEs, a message from his form tutor in his leaving book said "the world was his oyster".
Nearly 25 years and several career changes later, it's not quite worked out to plan. He's never really got further than Telford.
Join Wayne for this brand new show as he uses the contents of his original Record of Achievement to regale hilarious stories from his school days, as well as his journey post-education through factories and newspaper offices before considering how successful he has been in his present home on the stage.
40 minutes of brand new material and the chance to find out the back story of your favourite compere, with a support act also on the bill.

The Circles were formed in 1979 by lead Vocalist/Guitarist Mick Walker who still lives in Dudley and signed to local Record label 'Graduate' alongside stable mates UB40.
Graduate released the bands first single 'Opening Up/cw Billy' which reached number 3 in the Indie charts during which time the band embarked on a national tour to promote the release. After numerous sell out gigs at Wolverhampton's Lafayette venue it wasnt long before major label Chrysalis came knocking and soon after 2nd single 'Angry Voices' was released which sold over 20,000 copies and gigs alongside UB40, Tom Robinson, The Lambrettas and many more were in the diary .

Geoff Tristram has been a highly successful professional artist and illustrator for well over 35 years, and also a top flight cartoonist. He has worked for many well-known companies such as Penguin Books, Embassy World Snooker, Tarmac, Cadbury's, Thornton's, Past Times, Winsor and Newton, Reeves Paints, Paper Rose Greetings Cards, Ravensburger Puzzles and the BBC - to name but a handful. His artwork has been seen on fine art prints, collector's plates, magazines, postage stamps, jigsaw puzzles, greetings cards, press advertisements, billboards and packaging, and he also accepts private commissions, especially enjoying portraiture. As if this wasn't enough, he is also a novelist and currently has eleven comedies in the shops and on various websites such as Amazon, Waterstones, etc.
When he is not at the drawing board or the computer keyboard, Geoff spends a lot of his time giving humorous talks about his frenetic career to all manner of societies, or visiting schools and colleges to hopefully inspire the students.
He was, once upon a time, a promising classical clarinettist too, but nowadays favours the somewhat noisier electric guitar. Oh yes, and he watches an awful lot of village cricket, which is just about the only thing that calms down his over-active mind!
His one regret is that he's never been able to sing in a way that would give anyone pleasure, and his dearest wish is that someone will see sense (and profit) and adapt one of his beloved novels as a comedy film. Be sure to visit The Shop to buy some of Geoff's artwork, plus Geoff's hilarious comedy novels.

Advance tickets £10.00 £12.50 OTD
It was 30 years ago that the New Bushbury Mountain daredevils first banged the drum in a never ending tour of busking madness that carried them from the streets of Chester to Cologne, Rotterdam, through the echoing canyons of Antwerp to the beauty of Florence and Venezia. From that resounding street sound grew a band that conquered the UK folk scene, appearing at a myriad of Festivals including Cambridge and Cropredy.
Life as it does scattered the band to the winds but we have finally persuaded everyone to return from all corners of the planet to recreate that familiar sound once more, celebrating thirty years since the beginnings of that magical musical journey. The show will feature all the usual favourites and is also being recorded for a live album to be released later in the year.
